Spring is very distinctly in the air.
I'm currently spending most of my time working. Our little startup is growing quickly and no day is ever boring. However, balancing good work and joy outside work is a frequent challenge to which I always need to be attentive.
I've recently started going to the gym for the first time in my life, and have managed to do it consistently three days a week for two months. I'm really hoping that I'll be able to turn the hyperfixation into a habit before my progress slows down. I'm really enjoying feeling stronger and fitter, and I like the vibe at the gym, which is an afforadable community one. I've also bought a Garmin fitness watch and have started running again, practicing staying in zone 2. This is preposterously hard; I find it a bit dispiriting how quickly my heart rate rises if I start the barest jog.
I was writing my queer sci-fi time travel novel (working title Pattern and Noise) quite steadily a few months ago, but after finishing act 1, I lost focus, and hope to regain it soon so I can start working on act 2.
I preordered a Framework 12 laptop a few days ago. I've not been this excited about a laptop since the 11" MacBook Air in the early 2010s. It's going to be my first Framework laptop, and I can't think of a better form factor to play around with.
